Maybe you found out of Flamingo Beach while planning a stop to Eagle Beach Aruba, or maybe someone recommended you the place. In either case, here are 5 reasons why you should consider visiting Flamingo Beach during your next trip… But first, a little bit of trivia so you can get some context.

What Is Flamingo Beach?

Flamingo Beach is a private shore owned by the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino, a hotel on the Renaissance Island. The private island is part of the bigger Aruba, and probably its most popular star (at least on social media).

Where Is Aruba?

Knowing this is beautiful, but where is Aruba? Aruba is a small island in the southern Caribbean sea. It is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands among Saint Marteen, Curacao, and of course the Netherlands. A quarter of the island’s internal product comes from tourism, so you will not have any trouble if you travel for pleasure. Now that you have a bit of context, here are 5 reasons to add Flamingo Beach to your bucket list.

1.

Feed The Flamingos

The beach takes the name from them, and they are naturally the main attraction. There are 6 flamingos living at the Flamingo Beach, and they are usually more than happy to be the stars of your holiday pics. On the beach, you can find a vending machine selling flamingo food. It costs only $0.50, but you will need some quarters.

The Best Time

The flamingos are quite friendly and tourists love to feed them. Sometimes they go to sleep after a good meal which is adorable to witness. The best time to be personal with these animals and feed them is for sure during the morning. Around 8 AM, the beach is not so crowded and the flamingos enjoy a bit of company. If you are lucky and they trust you, you might be able to feed them directly from your hand. Apart from being an overall great experience, feeding the flamingos is probably one of the best activities to shoot some gorgeous holiday pictures for your Instagram profile.

2.

Enjoy The Aruba Climate

If the first reason was quite obvious, this one is surely less predictable. You might not know it, but Aruba has a different climate from most of the Caribbean region. While still being humid, Aruba has a much drier climate and a more cactus stew landscape. What this means is that the average number of days with rain is lower, and the millimeters of rain are fewer. This gives the island a much more consistent forecast with more stable weather. The average number of rainy days during a month ranges from 3 to 10, depending on the month.

Cuba on the opposite side, has about 5 to 13 rainy days a month, depending on the period of the year. Traveling to Aruba (and so to Flamingo Beach as well), you have a higher possibility to find the sun shining for your whole holiday. If you get yourself some Aruba vacations, you may as well forget the umbrella.

3.

Explore The Flamingo Beach Fauna

Despite what you might think, at first sight, flamingos are not natives of the island. They have been transported there by the Renaissance Hotel, and this is the reason why you can find only 6 of them. With the growing popularity of the site, Aruba resorts tried to buy more flamingos but found it difficult due to the wild nature of the animal.

On the other hand, there are a lot of other species to be found on Flamingo Beach. Among the most common ones, you will find many iguanas and other wild birds (the native ones), not to mention the rainbow of colors that you can find under the water. You can also find more animals in other parts of the island like Eagle Beach Aruba.

4.

Hang Out On A Hammock At Flamingo Beach

Is there a more solid reason to visit a beach than to just lay down and enjoy the sun? Even without the pink stars of the floor, Flamingo Beach is a breathtaking ashore and certainly a special place to relax, slow down and recharge your batteries. Between the palms, you can find hammocks to relax on and there is even a bar to get a drink or two with your friends. The flamingos are really just the cherry on the cake that transforms this place form exceptional to magical. If you need to stop the time for a while and feel the wind on your face, Flamingo Beach is truly the perfect way to do that.

5.

Experience The Renaissance Aruba Resort And Casino

The guests of the Renaissance Hotel have free access to Flamingo Beach, while the members of other Aruba hotels and resorts have to pay the flamingo beach Aruba day pass from the Renaissance Hotel. Even if this might sound like a good benefit, the Renaissance Hotel is quite pricy and it is usually cheaper to buy the flamingo beach Aruba day pass. What really makes the difference is the experience of staying in this exclusive Aruba resort.

Perfect For Both Singles And Families

The resort is built in a way to give the best experience to both singles and families. If you are single and you don’t want any screaming child in your way, you will find common places to meet with other adults and have a good time at the bar. On the other hand, if you go there with your family, you will have common activities to do all together and optimized spaces to spend some quality time with the people you love the most.

Don’t Miss The Casino

Besides being a beautiful hotel and giving you free access to the beach, the resort also hosts 2 different casinos to spice up your nights. The Crystal Casino and the Seaport Casino offer a total of 10 blackjack tables, 5 roulette tables, 378 variety of popular slot machine games, and a lounge area with food service until 6 AM. If you are a game lover, with this one you will complete your Aruba all-inclusive experience.

Even with all of this, we understand that this type of holiday is not for all tastes. Do you want to go off the road and find your own perfect spot in the less crowded shores? Would you like to define your own Aruba all-inclusive experience? All it takes is a little imagination. And while you’re planning your Aruba vacation, be sure to check out this list of the best beach umbrellas. You’ll be visiting plenty of beaches in Aruba regardless of how you customize your vacation and packing a beach umbrella will keep you covered for when that beach sun gets too bright.
