Airplane Accessories for Long Flights Buyer's Guide
Long flights can feel daunting, but with the right accessories, you can turn your journey into a comfortable experience. Whether you’re a frequent traveler or embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime trip, we have compiled a comprehensive buyer’s guide to help you choose the perfect accessories for long-haul flights. Here are our top recommendations:
1. Neck Pillows
- Memory Foam Neck Pillow: A memory foam neck pillow contours to the shape of your neck to prevent soreness and stiffness. It provides excellent support, though it takes up more space in your bag—check that your suitcase size fits under an airline seat if you plan to store it there.
- Inflatable Neck Pillow: For travelers worried about carry-on space, an inflatable neck pillow deflates easily after use. It’s a practical, space-saving option for frequent flyers who need to pack light.
2. Travel Blankets
- Lightweight Fleece Blanket: Stay cozy and warm during your flight with a soft and lightweight fleece blanket. Choose one that can be easily folded or rolled up to save space in your cabin bag. If you’re also wondering what suitcase size fits under an airline seat, a compact blanket helps maximize that limited space.
- Compression Travel Blanket: For those tight on space, a compression travel blanket is an ideal choice. These blankets can be rolled up and compressed into a small and compact size, perfect for packing.
3. Eye Mask and Earplugs
- Contoured Eye Mask: Block out cabin lights with a contoured eye mask. Choose one made from soft, breathable fabric for maximum comfort.
- Noise-Canceling Earplugs: Minimize cabin noise and enjoy peace and quiet with noise-canceling earplugs. These tiny accessories ensure a more restful journey, especially if your suitcase size fits under an airline seat and you need to sleep without overhead bin distractions.
4. Travel Slippers or Socks
- Slip-On Travel Slippers: Give your feet a break by wearing slip-on travel slippers during the flight. Opt for ones with non-slip soles, making them perfect for walking around the airplane cabin.
- Comfortable Socks: If slippers are not your thing, a pair of comfortable socks will do the trick. Choose moisture-wicking socks to keep your feet dry and cozy throughout the flight.
5. Travel Organizer
- Hanging Toiletry Bag: Keep all your essentials organized and easily accessible with a hanging toiletry bag. Look for one with multiple compartments and a hook for easy hanging in the bathroom.
- Electronics Organizer: Avoid the hassle of tangled wires and misplaced chargers with an electronics organizer. These handy bags come with various compartments to store your gadgets and accessories.
Before you pack, check if your suitcase size fits under an airline seat to avoid gate-checking your organizer. A compact electronics case keeps cords tidy and ensures you can quickly stow devices when stowing your bag.
6. In-Flight Entertainment Accessories
- Tablet or E-Reader Stand: Enhance your in-flight entertainment experience with a tablet or e-reader stand. Choose a sturdy and adjustable stand that will securely hold your device at a comfortable viewing angle.
- Headphone Splitter: Enjoy a movie or music with your travel companion by using a headphone splitter. This nifty accessory allows you to share audio without the need for additional headphones.
7. Compression Socks
- Graduated Compression Socks: Combat the discomfort of long flights with graduated compression socks. These socks promote better circulation and can help prevent swelling in your legs and feet.
- Moisture-Wicking Compression Socks: Stay dry and comfortable with moisture-wicking compression socks. They are designed to keep your feet cool and fresh, even during long periods of wear.
8. Travel Hygiene Kit
- Disposable Toothbrush and Toothpaste: Freshen up during your flight with a disposable toothbrush and toothpaste. These compact travel-sized kits are a convenient way to maintain oral hygiene on the go.
